We are part of the Grand Hotels International group with hotels located throughout New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore.  Grand Hotels International is known for quality accommodation, exceptional service, convenient locations and outstanding conference and meeting facilities. The James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor has 269 guest rooms and provides a 4.5 star experience to our Corporate, Government and Leisure guests.As a Housekeeping Supervisor you will assist the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Housekeeper with the day to day running of the shift. The Housekeeping Department is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the entire hotel which includes public areas, 269 guest rooms, 2 restaurants and bars, 8 conference rooms, gym and club lounge. This role involves both a hands on approach and an administrative component, and requires a team player with an abundance of energy, passion, strong leadership skills and attention to detail.   The successful candidate must be available for a 7 day rotating roster, including weekends. The ideal candidate for this role will:Have previous experience in Housekeeping as a Room Attendant, Team Leader or Supervisor or have worked in a similar roleAbility to lead, develop and motivate a teamComputer literacy with excel, word and outlookExcellent communication skillsHigh attention to detailEffective time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi taskA positive can do attitude The position will include, but is not limited to:Supervise team members with the servicing of guest rooms, public and back of house areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are adhered to as set out in the Housekeeping training manual. Liaise with other departments in the hotel to determine and assist with the coordination of guest requirements.  Ensure correct procedures are followed in relation to security of guest belongings and equipment.Room maintenance is reported immediately to the Maintenance Department and the Executive Housekeeper is kept informed of the status.Complete administration tasks, manually and on the computer, including but not limited to daily room allocations, ordering of linen, and lost property entries.  What we offer our employeesWe support and pay the living wage.
