The Group Director of Sales & Marketing – Australia & New Zealand is responsible for leading and directing all commercial efforts of the hotel, ensuring they are aligned and optimized, enabling all functional streams to work in collaboration to effectively achieve the groups consolidated revenue targets.This position reports to the Group General Manager for New Zealand and Australia and works closely with the General Managers, Directors of Sales & Marketing and Revenue Managers at each property, as well as the Board of Directors, Group Financial Controller and other team members at Head Office, based in Wellington. The ideal candidate for this role will:Ideally have extensive knowledge and experience from within the hospitality/ international hotel sector and previous experience as Director of Sales and MarketingHave a proven track record of successful campaigns with total commercial responsibilityBe a results focused professionalPossess the ability to successfully inspire, mentor, develop and manage the team The position will include, but not limited to:Lead and direct the development and implementation of the hotels strategic sales and marketing plans, business plans and initiatives to include, but not limited to, interacting with clients, directing sales efforts, driving unique food and beverage offerings, securing business, preparing and presenting statistical and performance reports.Managing the overall performance of the Sales & Marketing teams to implement strategies and achieve revenue targets.Collaborate with the Revenue/Reservations teams to determine sales & pricing strategies, establishing group thresholds, deploying competitive data strategies, conducting demand analysis and reviewing the hotels market mix.Develop, implement and maintain strong brand integrity through compliance of standards and guidelines and drives awareness to grow customer consideration and preference in the market.Drive and manage total alignment between the Commercial Function and Hotel Operations to ensure open communication in order to maintain and enhance Guest Satisfaction.Collaborate with the Loyalty Manager to effectively grow and enhance the program.Grow and develop your team members' performance including, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, sales evaluations and delivering a culture of recognition and success.Participate in regular meetings when required.
